What is Reflexology?Reflexology is an application of gentle to firm pressure techniques applied systematically to certain reflexes of your hands and feet to encourage, and induce a state of deep relaxation, and to stimulate your body's own healing process helping you to return to a state of balance and well being. Reflexology helps us to cope on a physical, mental, and emotional level, encouraging us to heal and maintain health in all areas of our lives.
Reflexology is thought to date back to Ancient Egypt, India and China, but it wasn't until 1913 when Ear Nose and Throat specialist Dr William Fitzgerald introduced this therapy to the West as 'Zone therapy' and 'Zone analgesia' He noted that by applying pressure to the body it could have an anesthetic effect, not only relieving pain but the underlying causes as well, hence 'Zone therapy was born.
